I liked Robert Johnsons delta blue song because his voice was full of grit and passion. You could hear how hoarse his throat was, yet his voice was still powerful.

Love the representation given to black artists and the culture that surrounded the makings of the blues. Black culture is a staple in music and probably has one of the widest influences there can be. Black music, sung by someone else or not, makes communities.

Some things I found interesting was the type of music and sounds that were created. One such as the different type of playing styles as well as a guitar sounding good by itself but when it is added with a harmonica it sounds like a whole band with only two instruments being used. Not only that, but the kind of songs that are written can be from peoples own experience. The call and respond tactic when singing is also really interesting and gives songs a more alive perspective as well as back up vocals making it seem like there is not just one person singing nut a group.

I really enjoyed learning that the rock music we know today is rooted in Black music. Not only did black heritage and culture influence rock but many other genres such as blues, jazz, hip-hop, and funk. This article is very inspiring as the reader gets to gain more cultural knowledge and be able to recognize the many different cultures that influences music today.

Something I found interesting was how rock started out and had blues, but then it changed into to a more heart racing kind of music and developed different patterns of music.

I liked how deep it went into the history of rock music. I had no idea it originated from black music until now. It was cool to see who the artists were and listening to the lyrics and understanding the meaning of some of their songs.

It was very interesting to learn that rock music came from black music. I thought the Delta Blues style sounded like a cross between country and jazz.

I enjoyed the fact that it showed how black musicians have influenced rock and roll overtime. For example, Muddy Waters introduced the electric guitar which is still used to this day.
